G.T. Humanists Book Club: “I Cheerfully Refuse” by Leif Enger
September 14 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

We’ve selected our next read… it’s going to be I Cheerfully Refuse, by Leif Enger. Here’s a blurb about it, from member Lin Foa:
This book, a Washington Post Notable Book of the Year, has been described as “part sea adventure (Lake Superior), and part thriller, with a little magic along the way.” It’s set in the near-future, and in the midst of climate change and societal collapse, it manages to be hopeful, harrowing, and a love letter to books, reading, and sailboats. I found it beautifully written and thought provoking. It was an NWS presentation a few months ago, and is quite memorable.

We’ll be meeting at 4 p.m. on Sunday, September 14, at the home of Ben Shaw and Celia Villac, 15554 Center Road, Traverse City. RSVP to Ben and Celia at 231-463-5581.
Happy reading, everyone!
