Citizens’ Climate Lobby: “Carbon Fee & Dividend Legislation: How a Price on Carbon can Catalyze the Transition away Fossil Fuels”

Please join Elizabeth (Lisa) Del Buono MD, co-leader of the Northern Michigan chapter of Citizens’ Climate Lobby, to discuss how Carbon Fee & Dividend legislation can catalyze the transition away from fossil fuels while creating jobs and stimulating the economy. Learn more about how Citizens’ Climate Lobby, a non-partisan grass roots advocacy group focused on creating the political will for a livable world, educates and empowers each of us as citizens to take action.

Lisa Del Buono is a physician and a mother who lives and works in Traverse City. She went to medical school in her home state of Kentucky followed by a residency, fellowship, and short tenure as assistant professor at the University of Michigan.

As a mother, Lisa is concerned about potential impacts of climate change on future generations. Given the urgent need to transition quickly away from fossil fuels, she is convinced that carbon fee and dividend legislation is the best approach to catalyze the transition and buy us time to address more systemic problems. She believes that Citizens Climate Lobby has a unique model to empower the citizen to create the political will to make this change. She has trained as a Climate Reality Presenter and has been a co-leader with the Northern Michigan Chapter of Citizens’ Climate Lobby since it began in March of 2013.”
